What does the name "Internal Arts" really mean?
This name refers to more than fighting and self-defense; it also includes a five thousand year history of deep culture, tradition, wisdom, and lifestyle.
Through practice, we learn to better understand our bodies, the principles of Nature, and the things around us. We learn from thousands of years of wisdom and apply that to our lives to create a better future.
"Internal Arts" refers to a special system from our ancestors passed down by practicing together not merely through books. If we can fully understand it, we can apply it to many aspects of life.
For example, in our practice our bodies move in spirals. Spirals provide breakthroughs. in practice, we can use spirals to breakthrough an opponent's forces. We can apply the concept of spiraling when dealing with many other obstacles in life. We can learn to turn and change in the face of strong disagreements toward better ideas.
Why does our practice include circling? The circle has no edges- no starting point or ending point. It can be continuous, non-stop. Circling can deal with thousands of pounds of heavy weight with minimal effort. When we apply the concept of circling to our lives, we can become more creative, resilient, persistent, and have a more continuous and connected flow of thoughts (not broken or scattered).
With our practice, we can teach what you don't know and also improve what you already know and have learned.
